One night after 35 years as chefs and owners of an award-winning restaurant group in Stockholm, we decided to sell everything and follow our hearts.
Our kids had grown up and flown the nest, so it was time for Carina and me to have a new adventure - with our dog of course. We packed the car, drove through Europe and started our new lives in the amazing region of Marche in Italy and this magnificent place we now call home.
We have spent the last years developing our small boutique hotel where we serve our gastronomy for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We wanted to create a retreat for our guests where our experience as chefs, bakers, wine connoisseurs and olive oil producers was a part of everything we offer.
Our summers we spent in the Italian countryside and as owners of the award-winning restaurant group we ran in Stockholm is what has inspired us to make Ruffino what it is today.
We have spent 35 years dining in other restaurants, visiting chefs of restaurants big and small – all to learn the secrets of the world’s most successful gastronomy. We have a brand-new kitchen overlooking the rolling hills of Marche where we offer an immersive dining experience with us in the kitchen, gastronomic dining in the garden where we host set menu dinners, and pizza from our wood-fired bread oven. We love to share our knowledge and experience and to take you on an authentic journey that is true to Ruffino’s history and ours as chefs and look forward to welcoming you to Ruffino.
